The Throat – What is the Mind-Body Connection?
The throat chakra is your centre of communication, both comprehension (inflow) and expression (outflow) of information, opinions, ideas and desires. The throat is about asserting the will of your heart in the world: your ability to express your true self through balancing the competing desires of heart and mind.
Thyroidism – What is the Mind-Body Connection?
Other Names: Hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism
The thyroid is the regulator of multiple organs in the body. If there is limited expression of the soul’s desires, the body’s overall functioning becomes compromised.
You are feeling restricted because you feel unable to do what you want to do, when you want to do it. This causes you to feel hopeless and give up on expressing what you want causing hypothyroidism; or, you become enraged as a result of losing control of your life which causes hyperthyroidism. You need to honour what your heart is telling you by taking steps to make it a reality.
Sore Throat – What is the Mind-Body Connection?
Other Names: Pharyngitis, Tonsilitis
You have become stifled from restricting your self-expression. This frustrates you because you won’t speak up for what you want yet you want someone to understand your point of view. You are not giving yourself enough credibility for what you have to say so you have become attached to whether or not others accept it. You need to have self-belief and courage in order to be true to yourself and communicate freely, regardless of what others may think of you.
Loss of Voice – What is the Mind-Body Connection?
Other Names: Hoarseness, Laryngitis
You are withholding what you want to say because you don’t think it will have any effect on your life or those around you. You need to feel empowered in expressing what you want directly.
