Skin – What is the Mind-Body Connection?
The skin represents how we present ourselves to the world, as a reflection of how we see ourselves. It is highly sensitive and absorbent so it reflects minor changes in our internal and external environment. When we show healthy, glowing skin to the world, we feel good about ourselves, complete in our own reflection. When our skin is irritated or inflamed, it is an indication that there is a frustration stemming from how we see ourselves.
Any consistent imperfection of the skin is a sign that we are seeing ourselves as inadequate in some way: an imperfect self-perception will naturally create an imperfect exterior.
Skin Conditions – What is the Mind-Body Connection?
Other Names: Acne, Dermatitis, Eczema
You feel as though whatever you do is not good enough so you see yourself as imperfect or not as you would prefer to be. This causes you to be hard on yourself and everything that you do which creates tension and frustration. This frustration is simply repressed energy that could be better used to focus on your good qualities rather than your shortfalls. You need to learn to love and accept yourself, knowing that everything that you are and do is as it is meant to be. This will alleviate your frustration and allow you to use your energy to create with the freedom of self-expression.
