Since I can remember, I have wondered what makes people tick: why we can look so different to each other, why we have different health issues, why we experience life differently and how some people seem so 'together' whilst others seem so unfulfilled.
As I got older, I started asking these questions of myself, especially when I developed various ailments that didn't respond to conventional medical treatment to the point of being cured. I was determined to know 'why?'...
Why do some medical treatments work on some people and not others?
Why do we have ailments and illnesses in the first place?
When conventional methods fail, what are we supposed to do about our health?
I wasn't satisfied with being told to 'live with it' or that there is a scientific explanation for everything. I wanted to get to the root cause - something other than the mainstream theories about health and happiness.
This quest took me on a fascinating journey of self-discovery which led me to studying the connection between the body, mind and soul. I explored various approaches to health from emotional therapies and neuro-linguistic programming to nutritional medicine and energy healing. I applied the techniques to myself and observed the results and soon I began piecing together - in my view - a 'holistic' approach to healing.
Of all the experience and information I have gathered about holistic healing over the years, there is one key contributor that made all the difference. It gave me a frame of reference for my holistic view of health. It helped me to see people in a different light, understanding them on a personality as well as a soul level, just by looking at them. Psychosomatic therapy was the unique approach to holistic healing for which I was searching. When I applied everything else I had learned in the context of psychosomatic principles, I realised that for me, it was the 'big picture' view of human nature in the physical form.
Psychosomatic therapy had a positive impact on my performance at work as it gave me a new frame of reference for dealing with people. Because of my keener understanding of people and why they are in the shape they are in, my hiring decisions were more accurate, I developed better relationships with my colleagues and i was more aware of my own behaviours and how they impacted on my work in general. I currently have my own pyschosomatic therapy business and conduct face readings at health and healing related expos in Australia.
Mind-body connection principles became the foundation of my approach to healing and my inspiration to build this site. I hope that it inspires you to pursue your own holistic healing journey.
